Greuther Furth stay bottom of Bundesliga

Daniel Caligiuri's first-half goal sees Freiburg defeat Greuther Furth 1-0 at home to leave their visitors at the bottom of the Bundesliga table.

Greuther Furth have remained at the foot of the Bundesliga table as they lost 1-0 to Freiburg away from home this afternoon.

The hosts were the more active of the two sides in the opening minutes of the match and took the lead in the 15th minute.

Daniel Caligiuri was afforded too much time to turn on the edge of the Furth penalty area and slotted the ball home past Wolfgang Hesl.

Freiburg continued to dominate possession at the Dreisamstadion and pressed their visitors, who failed to construct a proper attacking move for much of the match.

However, in the 82nd minute Furth almost scored the equaliser when Pavel Krmas turned Christopher Nothe's goalbound effort onto the post and out of danger.
