The 22-year-old Welshman had one year remaining on his deal with the League One side.
He joined the Gills from Fulham last summer before going on to make 28 appearances during the 2014-15 campaign.
Pritchard was not selected by manager Justin Edinburgh for any of Gillingham's games this season.
