Dirk Kuyt has admitted that he has discussed the possibility of Wesley Sneijder joining him at Fenerbahce with his international colleague.
Sneijder's days as an Inter Milan player appear to be numbered after he revealed yesterday afternoon that he had no intention of agreeing to the Italian club's contract offer to him.
With that in mind, Kuyt has tried to sell the idea of signing on at Fenerbahce to his friend.
"It is to be expected that I speak to him often and I think he has been affected by what I told him and he liked it," he told Milliyet. "I told him that Fenerbahce sympathise with his situation.
"We know that Sneijder is an expensive player and there are other clubs that want him too. I did not ask whether he will come here but I know there are people that wonder about him in Turkey.
"The transfer would be wonderful from our point of view. He has to make a decision but I don't know what he is thinking."
Sneijder has also been linked with Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
