Hugo Rodallega winner sinks Leeds United

A second-half strike from Hugo Rodallega gives Fulham a 1-0 win over Leeds United at Elland Road.

Leeds United's patchy form continued with a 1-0 defeat at home to a Fulham side who are looking to move away from the relegation zone.

Sam Byram fired wide from a narrow angle early on for the hosts, before stand-in Fulham goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly tipped Alex Mowatt's header onto the bar on the half-hour mark.

Former Leeds man Ross McCormack was denied by Jason Pearce's last ditch tackle in the only other first-half action of note.

However, the second half started brightly, and Leeds could have been ahead on 52 minutes when Adryan's bicycle kick from Stephen Warnock's cross flew narrowly wide.

Warnock then teed up Mowatt for a blocked shot before Fulham took the lead on 60 minutes, when Hugo Rodallega swept home after an incisive run and cutback from Lasse Vigen Christensen.

Substitute Billy Sharp's cross evaded Kiraly and fell to Adryan, but the Brazilian could only fire wide with the goal at his mercy as Leeds failed to find an equaliser.

The result sees Fulham leapfrog 19th-place Leeds in the table as the London side move onto 25 points.
