Leicester City defender Michael Ball has been fined by the FA for sending a homophobic tweet about Coronation Street star Antony Cotton.
Ball sent the offending tweets during Cotton's appearance on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here last year.
The FA handed Ball a fine of £6,000, the highest it has ever given for homophobia.
The former Everton and Manchester City player had his contract with Leicester cancelled this week, though it is thought that the decision was not related to the social media incident.
Ball joined the Foxes on a one-year deal in August.
