Nigel Pearson insists that he still has the support of the Leicester City owners.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has insisted that he still has the backing of the club's board despite a poor run of results.

The Foxes have dropped from the automatic promotion places to outside the playoff spots, which has led to reports that the board are considering removing Pearson from his post.

However, he admitted that Aiyawatt and Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha would be wanting results to pick up sooner rather than later.

"They have been very supportive as they always are," he told the Leicester Mercury. "I have had contact. They are good people, they have invested an awful lot in this club, and that's not just finances, and for sure, they will be wanting better results than we have had at the moment.

"I know that I have their support and that is really all that is important to me.

"I am in contact with my bosses and I know my own situation and I also know that they have been very supportive throughout the season."

Leicester face fellow playoff hopefuls Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
