Jamie Vardy apologises to supporters following heavy loss

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy describes his side's display against Crystal palace as "shambolic" after shipping five goals without response at Selhurst Park.

Jamie Vardy has apologised to Leicester City supporters for the "shambolic performance" produced in Saturday's 5-0 loss to Crystal Palace.

The Eagles recorded their biggest ever Premier League victory as they took apart a Foxes side with little left to play for this term.

Leicester were two goals down when Wilfred Ndidi limped off and Marc Albrighton was dismissed, leading to a late capitulation that saw three more goals conceded.

Vardy, who played the full 90 minutes in South London, took to social media 24 hours after the game to say sorry for the manner of the loss.

"I would personally like to apologise for yesterday's shambolic performance!" he posted on his Instagram page. "It wasn't and isn't acceptable for us to lose in that way EVER! Thank you to all the travelling fans who supported us. You deserved better."

Leicester have taken one point from the last 12 on offer to pile the pressure on manager Claude Puel.
