Jurgen Klopp is delighted with Liverpool's "very professional" 5-0 win over Porto in their Champions League last-16 first leg at the Estadio do Dragao.

Jurgen Klopp has praised Liverpool's "very professional" 5-0 victory over Porto in their Champions League last-16 first leg at the Estadio do Dragao.

The Reds put one foot into the quarter-finals of the competition thanks to a Sadio Mane hat-trick and a goal apiece from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Klopp agreed with the suggestion of the performance being "perfect" and even appeared surprised at how Liverpool made the victory look relatively simple.

When asked by BT Sport about whether the Reds' display could have been deemed perfect, the manager replied: "Yes. You could say that of course.

"It was very professional, very mature in the right moments, very aggressive, good defending, good counter-attacking, keeping the ball, moving them around. In this game it was possible, usually it's not that easy!

"It was hard work but at the end the boys enjoyed the work and that's the most important thing. I saw a lot of fantastic performances tonight, a result like this is only possible if they are all spot on."

Liverpool host Porto in the return leg at Anfield on Tuesday, March 6.
