Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up in Tuesday's Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

Liverpool will be aiming to secure a first-leg advantage when they travel to Real Madrid on Tuesday evening for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

The Reds will again definitely be without the services of Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk through injury.

Caoimhin Kelleher and Divock Origi could return from abdominal and muscular problems, although neither will be considered for a start even if they are back to full fitness.

Liverpool will enter the match off the back of a 3-0 win over Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday evening, and the bulk of the XI that took to the field at the Emirates Stadium should again start here.

The back four and goalkeeper should remain unchanged, but there could be an alteration in the middle of the park with Georginio Wijnaldum taking the place of James Milner.

Curtis Jones is another option in midfield, but Wijnaldum should get the nod to start alongside Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho against the Spanish champions.

Head coach Jurgen Klopp has a huge decision to make in the final third as Diogo Jota came off the bench to score twice in the three-goal success over the Gunners on Saturday.

It would not be a surprise to see Jota once again feature among the substitutes, though, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino operating in the final third of the field.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Thiago, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
