Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will not be rushed back and may be out for another two months, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly not expecting midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to return to action until the penultimate month of the season.

The England international has been on the sidelines since last April with a knee ligament injury sustained in the Champions League semi-final clash with Roma.

Oxlade-Chamberlain recently returned to light training ahead of schedule, having initially been ruled out of action for the duration of 2018-19, but The Telegraph reports that he will not make a competitive return to action until April at the earliest.

Liverpool are said to be cautious about including the 25-year-old in their Champions League squad as he will not be fully up to speed by the time the quarter-finals come around, should the Reds make it that far.

Jurgen Klopp is hoping to receive a double injury boost ahead of Saturday's home match against Bournemouth, meanwhile, with Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold both in contention to return.
