Liverpool have been dealt a further injury blow as midfielder Naby Keita was withdrawn during Guinea's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Rwanda on Tuesday afternoon.
The 23-year-old was taken off midway through his national side's 1-1 draw at the Stade Regional de Nyamirambo with an apparent thigh injury.
Keita, who joined the Reds from RB Leipzig in a £53m deal during the summer transfer window, had been seen clutching his upper leg towards the end of the first half and did not reemerge for the start of the second period.
Liverpool are already sweating on the fitness of Mohamed Salah for their meeting with Huddersfield Town next weekend, with the Egyptian forward suffering a sprain on international duty, while Virgil van Dijk has also returned to Melwood ahead of schedule.
Sadio Mane, meanwhile, reportedly broke his thumb during a training session with Senegal earlier this week and will be monitored ahead of the trip to the John Smith's Stadium.
