Jose Enrique keeps the faith

Jose Enrique refuses to write off Liverpool's chances of finishing in the top four this season.

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has insisted that the Reds still have a chance of finishing in the top four this season.

Brendan Rodgers's side are currently 12th in the Premier League table after an indifferent start to the season, but the Spaniard is convinced that they can still secure Champions League football.

"Of course it's not a good position to be in the table. We want to be in the top four and I know that is difficult at the moment as there are many teams above us," he told reporters.

"But if we had beaten Newcastle we would have only been four points behind the Champions League positions. It's not that far away. If we were to win three or four games in a row we would be up there."

Enrique has nailed down a spot in the team in recent weeks after spending much of the early season on the sidelines.
