Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson believes that there are numerous candidates within the team to take over as captain when Steven Gerrard leaves Anfield in the summer.
The England international is widely tipped to take the role when Gerrard vacates the armband at the end of the season to join MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.
Henderson, who is the current vice-captain, has told Liverpool's official magazine that Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Emre Can, Daniel Sturridge and Lucas Leiva all have the right qualities to lead the side.
"Next season we'll see what happens because it might not be me succeeding Stevie, it might be someone else," Henderson told the publication.
"There are a lot of strong leaders in the dressing room. There are a lot of big characters in the team - down to earth, humble people."
Gerrard has been Liverpool skipper for more than 11 years.
