Sevilla attacker Yevhen Konoplyanka has said that he turned down Premier League interest in the summer transfer window to move to 'the best league in the world'.
Liverpool and Stoke City were among the English clubs linked with the 25-year-old in the summer, but he chose to join Sevilla after running down his contract with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
The Ukraine international has criticised the technical side of English football and claimed that he would have only moved to the Premier League if he was "two-and-a-half metres tall".
"If I was two-and-a-half metres tall and didn't know how to control a ball then I may have gone to England, but here [in Spain], the football's more technical. It's the best [league in the world]," AS quotes Konoplyanka as saying.
Konoplyanka has scored twice for Sevilla this season, but has still not started a single game for Unai Emery's side.
