Liverpool looking to avoid losing fate for first time since 2014

Liverpool are hoping to avoid three consecutive defeats in the Premier League for the first time since November 2014 when they travel to Leicester City on Saturday.

Liverpool will be desperate to avoid equalling an unwanted six-year losing record when they face off against Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.

The injury-plagued champions recently suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time in the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp - losing 1-0 and 4-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City at Anfield respectively.

Furthermore, the Reds have only taken maximum points from two of their last nine Premier League outings, and Klopp could set another unwanted personal record against a high-flying Leicester team this weekend.

Defeat to the Foxes would mark the first time that Klopp has lost three on the bounce with Liverpool in the league, and the Reds have not suffered a trio of consecutive top-flight defeats since November 2014.

At that point, current Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers was at the helm on Merseyside, and he witnessed his Liverpool team lose three matches in a row to Newcastle United, Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

Liverpool start the day in fourth - three points behind third-placed Leicester and 10 adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
