Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has said that he is "ready" for the start of the new Premier League season.
Mignolet arrived at Liverpool from Sunderland for £9m last month and is now the club's first-choice goalkeeper following Pepe Reina's exit on loan to Rafael Benitez's Napoli.
"Pepe may be gone but there is still a lot of competition in the squad with Brad Jones, Danny Ward and myself here," the Belgian international told the Liverpool Echo.
"I have to focus on myself and show that I'm ready for when the season starts to do the job I'm asked to do.
"I have to work hard, train hard and make sure I do my best in every single training session, regardless of what other 'keepers are here.
The 25-year-old has made 13 appearances for Belgium since his international debut in 2011.
