Former Liverpool manager Graeme Souness has claimed that Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have the makings of a successful strike partnership.
Sturridge came off to bench to score for the Merseysiders in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Manchester United in the Premier League.
"All of a sudden Suarez had someone up and around him who he could bounce the ball off and the pair of them looked like they have the beginnings of a real partnership," Souness told Sky Sports News.
"Sturridge looked lively and there's no doubting this boy has got real ability. The question is whether he can couple that ability with a great attitude, which has been the question mark against him all the time."
Sturridge has now scored two goals in his first two games for Liverpool following his recent £12m move from Chelsea.
