Preview: Liverpool vs. Cardiff City

Liverpool host Cardiff City at Anfield in Saturday's early kickoff.

Liverpool host Cardiff City in Saturday's early kickoff with the possibility of moving up to second in the Premier League table, albeit temporarily.

The hosts enter the game off the back of four straight Premier League wins in which they have scored 14 goals, most recently a 5-0 thumping of Tottenham Hotspur away from home.

Cardiff have recently ended a run of five games without victory with their narrow 1-0 home win against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers will be without a number of important players, all of whom are absent with injury. Sebastian Coates, Jose Enrique, Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard will all miss out.

Malky Mackay will put former Reds striker Craig Bellamy through a late fitness test but otherwise there are no fresh injury concerns for Cardiff.
