Benfica have revealed that they have sold Lazar Markovic to Premier League side Liverpool.
The 20-year-old is believed to have been on Merseyside for at least the last 24 hours, where he has undergone a medical and discussed personal terms.
Despite his presence in England, there had been no official comment from either club, until Benfica announced on the Portuguese Stock Exchange this afternoon that they have relinquished their 50% share in the winger, for which they will receive £9.9m.
It is now expected that Liverpool will soon release an official statement that will confirm Markovic's arrival.
The Serbian international scored seven goals in all competitions for the Eagles last term.
