Cesc Fabregas backs Barcelona's Pepe Reina to replace Victor Valdes

Cesc Fabregas welcomes the potential arrival of Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina to Barcelona.

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes that goalkeeper Pepe Reina would fit into the Spanish side if he replaces Victor Valdes at the end of the season.

The Catalan outfit are expected to be looking for a new keeper following Valdes's claims that he will leave Camp Nou when the campaign comes to a close.

Reina, who is currently on loan at Napoli from Liverpool, has expressed his desire to return to his former club.

"Valdes has many roots here but is leaving for his life, he is curious to see how things are elsewhere, so his children can learn English and experience another culture," Fabregas told Radio Catalunya.

"As he has said and for how we know him, it seems almost certain. One of the things that Pepe can bring is that he knows all of us. He provides for a very good atmosphere in the dressing room and is experienced."

Reina left Liverpool on a temporary deal following the arrival of Simon Mignolet.
