West Ham United co-owner David Gold has described the signings of Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing for a combined £20m as "fabulous business".
The Hammers have added the pair to their squad this summer for a fraction of the £55m that Liverpool paid out for them both in 2011.
"When you realise that Andy cost £35m and Stewart £20m when arriving at Liverpool, for us to get them for these prices is brilliant business," Gold told Goal.com.
"To have grabbed two England internationals for around £20m is, in our terms, absolutely fabulous business."
West Ham start the new Premier League season on Saturday when they face Cardiff City at Upton Park.
