Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is confident that Mohamed Salah will sign a new long-term contract with the club.
The 29-year-old forward will see his current deal at Anfield expire in the summer of 2023, and has been linked with a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Salah has recently expressed his desire to stay with Liverpool, and while Klopp is optimistic that the deal can be agreed, the German has stated that negotiations will take time.
"We're talking – and extending the contract for a player like Mo is not one where you meet for a cup of tea and find an agreement in the afternoon," Klopp told BBC Sport.
"Mo is fine, I'm fine. What we all want is clear. Things like this take time. I think what we all want is clear things. It needs time, that is it."
Salah has been in sensational form so far this campaign, scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists in 20 games for the Reds across all competitions.
