Liverpool 'considered Son Heung-min bid'

Liverpool were reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min until his club qualified for the Champions League.

Liverpool reportedly placed Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min on their transfer shortlist earlier this year.

Despite possessing an array of options in the final third, manager Jurgen Klopp has been aware that he may have to make changes due to a number of contractual situations involving key players.

According to football.london, that led to Liverpool contemplating whether they should attempt an audacious bid for Son during the upcoming transfer window.

While the 29-year-old has a contract until 2025, a failure to qualify for the Champions League would have left Spurs open to offers for the likes of Son and Harry Kane.

However, Antonio Conte's side managed to end the Premier League campaign in fourth place, subsequently qualifying for European football's premier competition and effectively ensuring that all of their key men will remain in North London.

Spurs may have rejected any bid out of hand regardless of that outcome with Son having won the Premier League's Golden Boot this season, sharing it with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.
