Liverpool have reportedly identified Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
The Egypt international, who joined Liverpool in 2017, was heavily linked with a summer departure amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Liverpool rejected a reported £150m bid from Al-Ittihad in the closing stages of the transfer window, ensuring that Salah remained with the Reds for the 2023-24 campaign.
Salah has showcased his importance to the club in the opening stages of the season, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 10 competitive appearances.
While Salah continues to be a key player for Jurgen Klopp's side, there is uncertainty surrounding his long-term future with the club.

Salah has less than two years left to run on his current contract, and there is a belief that he will attract further interest from Saudi Arabia next summer.
Saudi Pro League's Michael Emenalo recently added to the speculation after admitting that Salah is "welcome at any time".
Although Liverpool have already turned down a significant offer from Saudi Arabia, they may find it difficult to reject a similar proposal next summer.
As a result, the Merseyside club are already starting to identify potential replacements, with The Mirror reporting that Sane has been made a priority target.
The report claims that Liverpool are willing to break their club transfer record of £80m to lure Sane back to the Premier League.

Sane registered 39 goals and 46 assists in 135 matches for Manchester City before he completed a move to Bayern Munich in 2020.
During his time with the Citizens, the Germany international won two Premier League titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup trophy.
Liverpool could face competition for Sane's signature, with Spanish giants Real Madrid believed to be showing an interest.
Sane, who is under contract until June 2025, has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, scoring seven goals in 11 competitive matches.
