Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly set to go head-to-head for Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.
Both sides are believed to be in the market for a new central defender ahead of next season and Carlos has supposedly caught their eye.
The 27-year-old joined Sevilla from Nantes last year and started 35 league games for the La Liga club in 2019-20.
Carlos remains under contract with Los Nervionenses until 2024, but the Brazilian is believed to have a €75m (£68m) release clause in his deal.
According to a report in the Daily Star, Liverpool and City may now battle it out for the classy centre-back.
However, the English pair could face strong competition from Barcelona, who have also previously showed an interest.
