Liverpool are reportedly preparing a January swoop for Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye.
The Frenchman was the subject of a bid from Arsenal towards the end of the summer transfer window, and subsequently missed a number of games after stating that he was not in the right frame of mind to play.
The former Lille man returned to the squad after issuing an apology to the club, but the Reds believe that they can test the resolve of the Magpies with a January bid, according to the Northern Echo.
The 27-year-old is thought to be valued at around £18m by Newcastle.
