Naby Keita is reportedly considering his future as a Liverpool player, with less than 12 months remaining on his current contract.

Naby Keita's future as a Liverpool player is reportedly uncertain with talks over a new contract on hold.

The 27-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in 117 appearances for the Merseyside club, but he only started 14 Premier League games last season.

A combination of injuries, international duty and competition for places affected his playing time in the 2021-22 campaign, while he is yet to start any of Liverpool's three competitive games this term.

According to German football journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Guinea international is currently considering his future with less than 12 months remaining on his contract.

Talks over a new deal are currently on hold, and with Keita keen to play regular football, RB Leipzig have shown an interest in re-signing their former player.

The report indicates that his decision will be affected by Jurgen Klopp's starting lineup for Monday's meeting with rivals Manchester United.

There is a suggestion that if Keita is not included in the starting XI he could be persuaded to leave, although Liverpool are keen for the midfielder to extend his contract.
