Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that his squad needs "that extra bit of quality" for the new Premier League season.
The Merseysiders have already signed four players this summer in the form of Luis Alberto, Iago Aspas, Simon Mignolet and Kolo Toure.
However, Rodgers wants to strengthen the side further before the end of the transfer window.
"There are obviously certain areas of the squad where we're a bit thinner than others," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.
"We probably need a bit more support - that extra bit of quality - at the top end of the field and that's something we'll look out for.
"That'll be mixed with needing cover in the left-back position - that's something we're looking at. It's not really about numbers, it's about quality."
Liverpool start the new campaign against Stoke City at Anfield on August 17.
