Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino decides to turn up early for Brazil training in a bid to earn a starting role at the World Cup.

Forward Roberto Firmino has decided to make an early arrival to training with the Brazil squad.

On Saturday evening, Firmino played the full 90 minutes as Liverpool suffered a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, and permission had been granted for the attacker to have a few days off ahead of linking up with his national team.

However, despite being given the option of a rest ahead of meeting up with his international teammates, the 26-year-old has instead decided to travel to London.

Brazil are currently spending time at Tottenham Hotspur's training ground in preparation for a friendly with Croatia at Anfield on Sunday, and it appears that Firmino is keen to feature at the home of his club.

Firmino has netted five goals in 19 matches for his country and will hope to play when Brazil face Switzerland in their World Cup opener on June 17.
