Daniel Sturridge not worrying about World Cup selection

England striker Daniel Sturridge insists that he is not worrying about being part of the squad for next year's World Cup in Brazil.

Daniel Sturridge has claimed that he is not worrying about being part of the England squad for next year's World Cup.

The Liverpool striker revealed on Sunday that he is fit to face Germany in Tuesday's friendly at Wembley Stadium following a foot injury.

Despite competition for places ahead of the 2014 tournament in Brazil, Sturridge insists that he just wants to train hard and not think too much about selection.

"I'm just working hard, I'm not putting pressure on myself," he told reporters.

"The manager is there to make the decision, I will just work hard and train hard and hope I'm in the team.

"If I can remain fit, I'm sure the opportunity will be there and I'll be able to take them. I'm not worrying about anything other than playing football."

Sturridge has found the net 11 times in 15 games for both Liverpool and England this season.
