Former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce has tipped Joe Hart to bounce back after losing his place as the club's first-choice goalkeeper.
The England international has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium since the arrival of manager Pep Guardiola, but Pearce believes that he is still the Three Lions' best shot-stopper.
"The most important thing is he gets out and he starts playing," he told talkSPORT.
"Somewhere during your career someone is going to make a decision that is not particularly favourable to you. You have got to make sure you come out and prove someone wrong.
"This might be the thing that stokes Joe up again and pushes him on. He is still the best England goalkeeper at the moment, when you consider Jack Butland is not fit and playing at present."
Hart has been named in the first team for City's Champions League meeting with Steaua Bucuresti this evening, his first start of the new campaign.
