Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that Yaya Toure is fully committed to the club.
The 32-year-old midfielder claimed on Monday that the British media do not give him enough credit for his performances.
Pellegrini has suggested that Toure's unhappiness with the media does not mean that he is looking to leave City.
"I don't have to answer for how happy Yaya is at the club," the Chilean coach told BBC Sport. "The answer is his performances over the last four years. He is a very important player and he demonstrates it every game.
"He may have a few concerns about the criticism but that is different to being unhappy at the club."
Toure has scored once in 11 appearances for City so far this season.
