Pep Guardiola has described Vincent Kompany's decade at Manchester City as a "special" achievement and says that he is "proud" to work with the long-serving skipper.
The Belgium international is today celebrating 10 years since joining the Citizens from from Hamburger SV for a reported £7.6m fee.
Kompany has played as big a part as anyone in City's recent success, winning thee Premier League titles, three EFL Cups, an FA Cup and a couple of Community Shields.
Guardiola has praised the 32-year-old for reaching the landmark milestone, telling the club's official website: "When one guy is with the same club for 10 years it's because he is something special.
"So you have to be so proud like I am to work with you this period. Now will be our third year - thank you so much."
Kompany made his first start of the season in City's 6-1 win against Huddersfield Town last weekend.
