Carlos Tevez is left out of the Manchester City squad to face Southampton at St Mary's Stadium due to "personal reasons."

Carlos Tevez has been omitted from the Manchester City squad to play Southampton this evening because of "personal reasons".

The striker, who spent four months away from City in his native Argentina last season, did not travel with the squad to the South Coast.

In his absence, Roberto Mancini has named Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko in attack for the clash against the Saints.

Tevez has scored nine goals 31 appearances for the Premier League champions this term.
