Goals from Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure either side of half-time ensured City enjoyed a comfortable victory.
Argentine striker Aguero stabbed home from close range before Toure made the match safe with a simple finish.
Aguero was withdrawn as a precaution late on after picking up a knock in a challenge with Emmanuel Pogatetz, a slight concern for City boss Roberto Mancini.
The Italian will be pleased with his team's effort in Germany as they prepare for next weekend's Community Shield against Chelsea at Villa Park.
