Agent: 'Jason Denayer could leave Manchester City'

Jason Denayer could leave Manchester City before the end of the transfer window as the club prepare for the arrival of Nicolas Otamendi, according to the Belgian's agent.

Jason Denayer's agent has revealed that the defender could leave Manchester City before the end of the transfer window.

The Belgian, who impressed on loan at Celtic last season, was a regular in Manuel Pellegrini's side in their preparations for the new campaign and signed a new five-year deal with the club last month.

However, Denayer looks unlikely to be given many first-team opportunities in the near future as City close in on the signing of Valencia centre-back Nicolas Otamendi.

"He was not in the squad against Chelsea, that was no surprise to us. But if City get a defender, that's it. If he is to sit on the bench or in the stands, he leaves," Jesse de Preter, the 20-year-old's agent, is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

Denayer, who could be made available for another season-long loan, has won three caps for Belgium at senior level.
