Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko is edging closer to completing his move to AS Roma after landing in the Italian capital to undergo a medical.
The Bosnian international was mobbed at the airport by a crowd of over a thousand fans singing his name when he arrived on Thursday night ahead of completing a £14m transfer to the Serie A side.
Since arriving from Wolfsburg for £27m in 2011 Dzeko has scored 72 goals in 187 games for City, but he scored only four goals last season as he found himself increasingly out of favour.
The striker's arrival in Rome came just hours after Roma confirmed the signing of Mohamed Salah on loan from Chelsea.
