Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that he is interested in signing Manchester City youngster John Guidetti on loan this month.
Hughes, who worked with the Swedish striker during his time in charge of the Citizens, would welcome the move that would bolster his attacking options.
When asked if there was a chance that the player could join Stoke this month, Hughes is quoted as saying by Goal.com: "Possibly. We've spoke about the boy. We hope to get players in who can help us. If we're able to conclude that then it be something that would help all parties.
"We're looking to add players if we can. There's certain parts of our game we know we need a different option. Sometimes we haven't got that option to go in behind and we lack a little bit of pace so we'd like to try and address that."
Guidetti has yet to make an appearance for Manuel Pellegrini's side, although he scored 20 times in 23 appearances for Feyenoord while on loan at the Dutch club in the 2011-12 season.
