Manchester City are reportedly considering a renewed effort to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
The two clubs are currently preparing to face each other in the Champions League quarter-finals on Saturday evening.
However, from a financial perspective, the fixture is more important to Lyon, who may have to cash in on one of their star men if they do not win the competition.
According to L'Equipe, City may make an official bid for Aouar, aware that there is an inevitability about the playmaker eventually linking up with a bigger club.
Given the implications of the coronavirus pandemic, Lyon are allegedly prepared to consider selling the 22-year-old for a fee in the region of £55m.
With a replacement required for David Silva, that asking price may tempt City into putting together a proposal.
