Manchester City have reportedly decided to step up their efforts to sign Real Madrid midfielder Isco in the summer.
Former Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini tried to sign the 25-year-old from former club Malaga in 2013, but the player opted to join Real for £23m.
Isco has made 24 starts in La Liga and the Champions League this season but has grown disillusioned under Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane.
Speaking after his hat-trick display in Spain's 6-1 friendly win over Argentina on Tuesday, Isco admitted to having no "continuity" at club level and suggested that he does "not know how to win Zidane's confidence".
According to The Mirror, the Spaniard's public display of disenchantment relating to his Bernabeu tenure has given Man City a confidence boost in their hopes of sealing the deal when the transfer window reopens.
City are thought to be willing to bid in the region of £75m for Isco, has scored 40 goals in 223 appearances for the Spanish giants.
