Manchester City tracking Swansea City centre-back Joe Rodon?

Swansea City centre-back Joe Rodon reportedly emerges as a potential summer transfer target for Manchester City.

Manchester City are reportedly keeping a close eye on the performances of Swansea City's Joe Rodon.

The reigning Premier League champions will allegedly move for two new central defenders in this summer's transfer window having struggled in that area of the field this season.

John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi have both been below par this term, while Aymeric Laporte's long-term absence with a knee injury has seen holding midfielder Fernandinho pressed into action at the back.

According to the Daily Mail, Pep Guardiola's side are tracking Rodon, who has made 15 Championship appearances for his Welsh club during the 2019-20 campaign.

The report, though, claims that Bournemouth, Everton, Leicester City, Chelsea and Arsenal have also all watched the defender in action over the last 18 months.

The Wales international was ruled out between the end of October and middle of January with an ankle injury but has returned to feature in Swansea's last two league fixtures.

Rodon, who came through the youth system at his current club, has a contract at the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2022.
