Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that he would like James Milner to stay with the club beyond the end of the season.
The midfielder's current contract at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire in the summer and so far no agreement over an extension has been reached.
However, Pellegrini is hopeful that all parties can come to an understanding that will see the 29-year-old commit his future to the champions.
"[There is] no news. I hope we will find an arrangement, but I think that I have said already what I think about James Milner. He is very useful. He always plays with 100% commitment and intensity," Pellegrini told reporters.
Milner scored both of City's goals in their 2-1 FA Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday earlier today.
