Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero wants to join Barcelona on a free transfer, according to a report.

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero is reportedly keen on a move to Barcelona this summer.

The 32-year-old's contract at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire at the end of June, and it appears increasingly likely that the Argentina international will be seeking pastures new for the 2021-22 campaign.

Aguero has only made five Premier League appearances this season due to a mixture of injury and coronavirus, and it is currently unclear when he will be available for selection once again.

Barca have recently been linked with the South American, who is City's all-time leading goalscorer with 256 goals in 379 appearances in all competitions.

According to Cadena Ser, the Catalan giants have already been in contact with Aguero over a potential move, and the experienced attacker 'would be delighted' to move to Camp Nou.

The report claims that his arrival could also help the club keep Lionel Messi, who continues to be linked with the likes of Man City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Aguero has scored just twice in nine outings for Pep Guardiola's side this season.
