Ander Herrera: 'Manchester United ready to battle Manchester City'

Manchester United will not let up in their fight with Manchester City for Champions League qualification, according to Ander Herrera.

Ander Herrera has insisted that Manchester United are prepared to "fight" rivals Manchester City for a place in next season's Champions League.

With seven matches left to play, fourth-placed City hold a one-point lead over the Red Devils.

However, following the 1-0 win over Everton on Sunday afternoon, Spanish midfielder Herrera has stressed that the momentum is with his side.

"It is not going to be easy because Man City also want to be in the next Champions League tournament, but we have to fight for it. I think we are ready to do it," he told reporters.

"Man United should be in the Champions League every year. I think in the last 25 or 26 years, there has been just one time when we didn't play Champions League, so we want to be there.

"We are Man United, we as players are obligated to fight until the end and I think we have the quality to be there. Man City has a bigger squad, with very good players, but I think right now we can fight against them."

This weekend United travel to title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur, while City play host to West Bromwich Albion.
