Michael Carrick will be unfit to play in England's European Championship qualifier on Saturday, it has been revealed.
The Manchester United midfielder sustained an injury during last weekend's Champions League final against Barcelona, which has left him unfit to train this week.
The 29-year-old, who has been released to Old Trafford, joins Jermain Defoe and David Stockdale in being unable to attend the Wembley fixture against Switzerland. Defoe is suffering from a fractured wrist while Stockdale is getting married the day before.
The remainder of Euro 2012's Group G, Montenegro and Bulgaria, will also face off on Saturday.
