Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Boxing Day clash with Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from Sunday's disappointing defeat at the hands of rock-bottom Watford when they host Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

The two sides sit level on points with each other in the Premier League table, with both sides spending Christmas seven points adrift of the top four.

The Red Devils have not lost back-to-back league games all season, though, and are unbeaten in the top flight at home since August.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man Utd's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Eric Bailly

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Arsenal)

Eric Bailly is closing in on a return having missed the entire campaign so far with a knee injury he sustained in pre-season. Newcastle's visit will come too soon for him, though.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 1 (vs. Arsenal)

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is also hoping to be fit again around the turn of the year following a long spell out with the knee injury he picked up while on loan at Fulham last season.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 28 (vs. Burnley)

Marcos Rojo has an outside chance of featuring in this one following more than a month out with a muscle problem.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

United have no players suspended for this match, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka is one booking away from a ban in what is the final game before the cut-off point.
