England manager Gareth Southgate reveals that Manchester United's Jadon Sancho has suffered "a small knock" ahead of England's World Cup qualifying clash with Hungary.

Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho has suffered a minor injury during training for England's upcoming World Cup qualifiers, Gareth Southgate has confirmed.

The former Borussia Dortmund man started his first game for the Red Devils in Premier League gameweek three last Sunday, playing 72 minutes of his side's 1-0 success over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Sancho is now due to be preparing for England's World Cup qualifying battles with Hungary, Andorra and Poland, but Southgate has revealed that the winger is now touch and go for Thursday's clash with the former.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Southgate said: "We've got a small knock with Jadon Sancho this morning, so we're going to assess him. Everyone else is fine for the game."

Sancho may not have earned a spot in Southgate's first XI either way, though, with the 21-year-old only starting one of his side's seven encounters at Euro 2020.

Man United face Newcastle United on September 11 following the international break, before opening their Champions League campaign away to Young Boys three days later.
