Anthony Martial rejected the chance to join Chelsea this summer prior to signing for Manchester United, according to a report.
The 19-year-old has won many admirers since making a move to Old Trafford after scoring four goals in his first six games for the Red Devils.
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev claimed earlier this week that another club had "offered even more than United" to land the £36m forward, but it was not disclosed which side this was.
However, according to Manchester Evening News, Chelsea were the team interested in bringing Martial to the Premier League, only for the offer to be knocked back.
France international Martial's transfer fee could potentially rise to around £58m once add-ons are included.
