Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is reportedly yet to make an official complaint after he was hit in the eye with an object from the crowd during the Manchester derby.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has reportedly not yet lodged an official complaint to the authorities over the fan that threw an object at him during the Manchester derby.

The 34-year-old was hit just above the eye with an object thrown from the crowd while he was celebrating United's 3-2 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium yesterday.

It is understood that no charges have been put against the fan in question because Ferdinand has yet to make an official complaint, according to Sky Sports News.

Following the incident, Ferdinand was targeted by a City supporter, who ran onto the field but he was restrained by goalkeeper Joe Hart.
