Manchester United forward Antony insists that he is "turning things around" at the club amid the speculation surrounding his future.

Manchester United forward Antony has insisted that he is "turning things around", with the Brazilian confident that he can prove himself for the 20-time English champions.

The 24-year-old has found it difficult to impress since arriving at Old Trafford from Ajax in the summer of 2022, only managing 10 goals and five assists in 77 appearances in all competitions.

Antony has just two goals and two assists in 33 outings this term, and there is currently a host of speculation surrounding his future, with Man United said to be ready to cut their losses this summer.

However, the Brazil international has insisted that he will come good for the club, with the forward certain that he is now moving in the right direction after a difficult period both on and off the field.

"I'm really happy with my form, I've worked very hard every day towards this," he told MUTV. "I've been working hard in training for months now, so I'm very pleased with my performances and I hope to improve with every game.

Antony confident he can overcome his struggles

"I know that there is a lot that can be improved and I've worked on this. I'm happy seeing my performances improve game by game."

Antony scored off the bench against Liverpool in the FA Cup last month and provided an eye-catching assist in the recent Premier League clash with Chelsea, but he was not involved in the game against Bournemouth last weekend due to a slight muscular issue.

"You can certainly expect a lot of these moments. As I said, my confidence is back through hard work. This despite having gone through a lot, I've been through some very difficult moments," he added.

"Today, I'm turning things around and have been for quite a while now. Importantly, I continue working regardless of the situation. I was delighted with the assist for [Alejandro] Garnacho and you can definitely expect a lot of good things ahead."

Off-the-field issues have interrupted his campaign

Antony is still being investigated by both the Greater Manchester Police and Sao Paulo Civil Police following serious accusations from his ex-girlfriend.

Gabriela Cavallin is claiming that the forward assaulted her on multiple occasions during their relationship, with the alleged incidents said to have happened in both Brazil and England.

Antony, who was given a leave of absence by Man United earlier this season to deal with the situation, has always denied any form of physical violence and continues to work with the police in an attempt to clear his name.

The most serious claim from Cavallin involves an alleged incident in a Manchester hotel last January, but the South American has not been arrested or charged.

Antony is currently training with his teammates ahead of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final with Coventry City, and he is expected to be in the squad for the clash against the Championship outfit.
